Project Abstract
This office reported directly to the CIO and
was challenged to coordinate all Information System activities within
the corporation. This helped ensure that all Information System
projects were proceeding on schedule and there were no barriers
to successful completion.
A major accomplishment of the Program Office
was the successful coordination of a “bundled” project that saw
four different project teams, working concurrently, implement significant
enhancements to the single instance of the corporate SAP ERP system.
During this “bundling” project, a team based in Europe was enhancing
SAP and converting data that allowed the EURO to be used as the
house currency. At the same time, a U.S. based team was integrating
47 new plasma collection centers into SAP. Additionally, a global
team successfully implemented SAP enhancements that were required
because of the corporate acquisition of 5 new products from its
parent company and a team performed the modifications necessary
to relocate a sales office from Singapore to Hong Kong. The Program
Office scheduled weekly status meetings and facilitated project
team to project team communications that helped ensure that all
projects could coexist in the established development, testing,
and quality assurance computer environments.
